Ephemeral Root
Rotterdam, io, and trantor use an ephemeral root filesystem that resets on every boot:
- Root filesystem is automatically rolled back using btrfs snapshots
- Old snapshots retained for 30 days
- Persistent data stored in dedicated subvolumes
- Implements truly stateless systems
